unPIZZO is a design studio with a small artisan workshop, specialized in interlacing for furnishing. Created in 2014 by Agnese Selva and Bettina Colombo, the study begins by thinking about the shape and use of traditional Brianza lace, with the aim of enhancing and rethinking it, experimenting with a new design approach, for a contemporary aesthetic and functionality. Every day new projects are born from the study of traditional interlacing revisited in a modern key and applied to new products designed to enhance the textures of the ancient stories they tell. After debuting at the Salone del Mobile 2016 with the Tombolo small armchair designed with Piero Lissoni, unPIZZO proposes new realizations, thanks to the consents obtained with the collaboration for Living Divani, the first big furniture brand to have believed in the value of the unPIZZO project. The continuous search for new applications of the interlacing technique inherited from the ancient tradition of Cantù lace has allowed new collaborations: the presence in the stand of Zucchetti Kos at the International Bathroom Exhibition with the Cascade tapestry tent and a realization with the Palomba and Serafini studio for the Eivissa gazebo by Ethimo, they confirm the great potential of unPIZZO's work, a true link between the inimitable craftsmanship of Brianza and contemporary Italian design appreciated throughout the world. For the outdoor collection 2020 of B&B Italia, unPIZZO design Tramae: a line of upholstered seats dressed in a interlacing inspired by the ancient techniques of making bamboo baskets. Hexagonal in shape, to resume the six-sided module that characterizes the pattern. In 4 colour variants, Tramae wears an custom-made and handmade interlacing, without stitching.
