Jens is a collection of chairs – with or without armrests – and stools featuring a typical 1950s style yet also interpreting classical Chinese chairs in a contemporary key. Rediscovering the craftsmanship of turned and curved wood, the result is a five-axis frame in a variety of wood finishes. Jens collection includes numerous versions: entirely in wood, with wooden frame and leather seat, with wooden frame and thick leather seat and back, with wooden frame and seat in woven cellulose rope.

“A memory chair that takes you back to the 1950’s, made by numeric control machines. A wooden structure in forms that work on five axes, combined with visible, seamless leather supported by the structure.
This design recalls several historic models: from the nineteenth century “shaker” chairs to the 1950’s-style chairs, all the way back to memories of the Ming dynasty.”

Antonio Citterio
Antonio Citterio wurde 1950 in Meda (Mailand) geboren. 1972 gründete er sein Designbüro und schloss 1975 sein Architekturstudium am Mailänder Polytechnikum ab. Zwischen 1987 und 1996 arbeitete er mit Terry Dwan zusammen, mit dem er gemeinsam Gebäude in Europa und Japan entwarf.
Im Jahr 2000 gründete er zusammen mit Patricia Viel ein Büro für Architektur und Interior Design, das internationale, komplexe und langfristige Projekte in allen Größenordnungen und in Synergie mit einem qualifizierten Netz von Fachberatern entwickelt. Das Studio trägt heute den Namen „Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel“. Citterio arbeitet derzeit im Bereich des Industriedesigns mit zahlreichen italienischen und ausländischen Unternehmen zusammen. In den Jahren 1987 und 1994 wurde er mit dem Compasso d’Oro-ADI ausgezeichnet. Von 2006 bis 2016 war er Professor für Architekturdesign an der Akademie für Architektur in Mendrisio (Schweiz). Im Jahr 2008 wurde er von der Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce in London mit dem Titel „Royal Designer for Industry“ ausgezeichnet.
Antonio Citterio ist Kreativdirektor von Maxalto, Arclinea und Azucena.
