Design steals the show in the short movie created by B&B Italia in collaboration with OffiCine and Elle Decor Italia.
In an elegant Milanese apartment preparations for a dinner are underway. The hosts walk between the living room and the dining area where they are finishing to set up... 4 places at the table stand out. Thus begins the short movie, a brilliant comedy entitled Cena per due (Dinner for two), which premiered last December 5th in Milan at the B&B Italia Store.
The story: a surprise dinner, a blind date organized by Azzurra and Thomas, the owners of the house, as a surprise to set up their two single friends, Ludovica and Stefano. All of this behind the two guests’ back, she at times neurotic and nonconformist and he a slightly awkward intellectual writer.
Among the guests at the event were actors Alessandro Sampaoli, Mercedes Casali, Federico Mariotti - Marina Rocca was unable to attend because of theater commitments - and the young director Niccolò Valentini, an OffiCine student. The list of the cast, however, does not end there. Last but not least is a main character that deserves a special mention: the B&B Atoll sofa, designed by Antonio Citterio, which sets the scene for a love-hate exchange between Ludovica and Stefano, in a captivating game of strategies and twists.
The film, created in collaboration with OffiCine, the Advanced Training Laboratory created by the collaboration of Anteo SpazioCinema and Istituto Europeo di Design, boasted the artistic supervision of Silvio Soldini. The styling of the set was overseen by Elle Decor Italia who commissioned, for the occasion, Studio Silenzi.
Novedrate, 10 September 2018 - B&B Italia has acquired the historical Italian brand founded in 1947 by architects Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Ignazio Gardella and Corrado Corradi Dell’Acqua.
The brand, which the three architects named Azucena after the gypsy in the play Trovatore, was created to collect together the furniture designed by them for their architectural projects; and furthermore to form a furniture collection in its own right.
Starting in October 2018, the Azucena brand will be commercialised with the re-editions of the first 20 products designed by Luigi Caccia Dominioni - one of Italy’s most illustrious designers and architects in the post-war period. These pieces have already been presented by B&B Italia during the Salone del Mobile.
The B&B Italia Group has recently signed a license agreement for the exclusive production and distribution of a selection of his iconic original pieces, including some of the most emblematic products in the history of Italian design: the Catilina chair (also in the low, small and stool versions); the armchairs ABCD (with the sofa extension), Toro (with the sofa and ottoman versions), Pole Position, Nonaro (also with the sofa, chair, small table and stool), and Chinotto; the Cilindro ottoman; the tables and small tables Cavalletto, Fasce Cromate and Fascia Specchiata; and lastly, the lamps Poltrona, Base Ghisa, Monachella and Imbuto.
The Luigi Caccia Dominioni collection will be available in Italy and abroad, in the main B&B Italia monobrand stores and also in an exclusive series of selected stores.
The Azucena brand collections will be listed alongside those under the brands B&B Italia, Maxalto and Arclinea, with the objective of strengthening the Group’s position even more as a world leader in the sector of high-end Italian design. For more information about the brand, products, and authorised dealers, the website www.azucena.it will be operative by October.
B&B Italia also chose Felix Burrichter, Creative Director of PIN-UP magazine, to create A new Perspective on Luigi Caccia Dominioni, the brand new video that celebrates the most iconic pieces of the new collection photographed within the most impressive Milanese buildings by architect Luigi Caccia Dominioni.
B&B Italia starts 2018 with the launch in Cologne of the first new products for the year dedicated to the outdoor living. The challenge is once again to reflect the technological innovation, ergonomic and formal research, quality and comfort typical of B&B Italia’s indoor products.
