Important awards for two American projects carried out by B&B Italia in the Contract field: SFO Polaris Air Lounge in San Francisco and Reach Brickell City Centre in Miami.
The United Airlines’ SFO Polaris Lounge, the largest Business Class Air Lounge in the world, located at Terminal C of the San Francisco International Airport (SFO), was awarded the prestigious World Airline Awards 2019, which acknowledges it as the best Business Lounge.
The World Airline Awards were introduced in 1999 by Skytrax, an independent airline ranking company based in the UK, to provide an independent, impartial and global customer satisfaction index. Within the United Airlines’ Lounge Polaris project signed by the SCB Studio in Chicago, B&B Italia Contract Division provided all the products to furnish the 2,000 square meters including the dining, lounge and relaxation areas. These are pieces from the B&B Italia and Maxalto collections, as well as a selection of custom furnishings, all characterized by fine finishes. The Polaris Lounge has already been inaugurated at the international airports of Newark, Houston and Los Angeles, while in the coming months it is expected to open in London Heathrow, Tokyo Narita and Hong Kong.

Richardson Sadeki, one of the most internationally renowned design studios specializing in residential projects and high-level hospitality, received the IDA Design 2018 Gold Award for the Reach, Brickell City Centre residential project in Miami in the category “Interior Design-Residential”. The International Design Awards (IDA) recognizes, celebrates and promotes legendary design visionaries and discovers emerging talents in Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic and Fashion Design. Within the residential project Brickell City Centre in Miami, B&B Italia Contract Division provided the furnishings for all the common and outdoor parts of the two Rise and Reach Towers, as well as a fully furnished sample apartment.
