B&B Italia will support the Design Museum in London by donating a Camaleonda sofa by Mario Bellini and a vacuum packed Up3 armchair by Gaetano Pesce to the benefit auction "Time for Design" (from 22th to 28th April).
The goal of the auction, curated by Deyan Sudjic, director of the museum, in collaboration with the auction House Phillips, is to raise funds to devote to the design museum’s ambitious project of creating in the new Holland park location, in Kensington high street, the world most dynamic and innovative museum dedicated to contemporary design and architecture.

Mario Bellini is an architect and designer internationally renowned. He received the Golden Compass Award eight times and 25 of his works are in the permanent design collection of the New York MoMA, which dedicated to him a personal retrospective in 1987. He was editor of Domus magazine (1985-1991). He has designed countless art, design and architecture exhibitions over the years, both in Italy and abroad: among the latest those at Palazzo Reale with Giotto's masterpieces (2016) and - at the Milanese Museo del '900 - the one dedicated to Margherita Sarfatti (2018-2019).

He realized numerous projects in architecture, including the Hubin apartment in Pairs (1986), the organic building in Osaka (1990), the gallery Mourmans in Knokke-le zoute, Belgium (1994), the Schuman residence in New York (1994), the office for the advertising agency twba/chiat/day (1994), or monumental glass design elements for the palais des beaux arts of Lille (1996).
