The B&B Italia Group is pleased to announce the opening of a new multibrand Store on Superior Street in Chicago in partnership with WPA Chicago. This store is the first of its kind in the United States, a retail space dedicated to the acclaimed B&B Italia, Maxalto, and Arclinea collections. In 1998, WPA Chicago - who has represented Arclinea for 20 years - introduced Arclinea to the United States with its first flagship store located in the heart of the Chicago Design District. Today, the same 7000 square foot showroom has been redesigned and renovated in order to emphasize B&B Italia and Maxalto designs and high-end kitchens from Arclinea, while retaining the industrial character of the original space. As a matter of fact, Arclinea’s kitchens perfectly complement and seamlessly integrate with the B&B Italia and Maxalto collections thanks to the similarity of approach to industrial production and the continuous demand for excellence shared by the three brands.
On the occasion of the grand opening the B&B Italia multibrand store showcases a wide selection of the B&B Italia and Maxalto most recent designs for the living, night and outdoor areas, alongside the iconic products. Among the B&B Italia products on display: Richard, Michel and Charles seating systems designed by Antonio Citterio, SAKé seating system by Piero Lissoni, Harbor armchairs by Naoto Fukasawa, Alex table, Jens chairs and Richard bed by Antonio Citterio, Tufty-Time seating system by Patricia Urquiola and many others; for the outdoor area Tobi-Ishi Outdoor table by Barber & Osgerby, Ray Outdoor Natural seating system and Erica armchairs. As regards to Maxalto, the contemporary classic brand of B&B Italia, designed and coordinated by Antonio Citterio, Solatium, Dives and Lucrezia seating systems, along with the Xilos table and the Alcova canopy bed are showcased.
The refurbished showroom houses four Arclinea kitchen projects. These dialogue with the B&B Italia and Maxalto products and represent the Arclinea Collection designed and coordinated by Antonio Citterio, Arclinea’s go-to designer since 1986. Innovative product concepts integrate differentiating shared elements that are both functional and instrumental. The showroom windows feature the Convivium island with doors and double shelf in bronze PVD, Vintage stainless steel worktop and Principia accessorised wall in Fumé Oak. In the section dedicated to the other kitchen displays: ‘Double corner’ Gamma with glossy lacquered granite doors, Calacatta marble worktop, Vina Epicuree, interiors in American black walnut and convivial island with snack bar; Convivium stainless steel island with hood for top, built-in table and wall in Fumé Oak; Italia island and tall units with doors in black Armour, double shelf in stainless steel.
Within the context of this philosophy WPA Chicago, building on a 20 year commitment to the integrity of Italian design, is pleased to offer retail consumers and design professionals a complete collection of furnishings and design planning expertise related to every room in the home. Established in 1998 by a family of architects, artists and builders, WPA Chicago is rooted in a deep understanding of design history and anchored by pragmatic and technical experience.
