The permanent ADI Design Observatory has selected the “Communication R-evolution” project for publication in the “Communication design” section of the ADI Design Index 2017, which pools together the products and projects that will compete for the 2018Compasso d'Oro ADI award. The communication project, developed by B&B Italia to celebrate the company’s fiftieth anniversary in 2016, sees the integration of three narrative forms of renowned effectiveness, thus disseminating worldwide the heritage and vision of B&B Italia as a leader and ambassador of Italian design. The three narrative forms involved included: a documentary film, entitled “B&B Italia. Poetry in the shape. When design meets industry”, directed by Didi Gnocchi, a book entitled “The long life of design in Italy. B&B Italia 50 years and beyond”, edited by Stefano Casciani and published by Skira, and the exhibition “B&B Italia/The perfect density”, designed by Migliore+Servetto Architects and now on permanent show at the B&B Italia headquarters in Novedrate. Every element of the project was designed to offer multiple stakeholders a structured overview of the B&B Italia universe and of Italian design, through a contemporary, crosscutting communication campaign.
The projects selected for the ADI Design Index 2017 were displayed in two exhibitions in Milan, at the National Museum of Science and Technology in Rome, and at Casa dell’Architettura - Acquario Romano.
