The Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana is hosting the exhibition "Nice to See You" that includes Up5_6, the famous armchair symbolic of the female condition.

From April 19 to 23, on the occasion of the Salone del Mobile, the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana hosted Gaetano Pesce's "Nice to See You" exhibition, which featured the Up5_6 armchair produced by B&B Italia. This famous armchair, also known as "Donna," has become a design icon thanks to its enveloping shape and its powerful symbolic message about the female condition. Created in 1969, the Up5_6 continues to be relevant and revolutionary, attracting the attention of enthusiasts and critics alike.
The Biblioteca Ambrosiana, with its historic architecture, offered a fascinating contrast to Gaetano Pesce's contemporary design, creating an evocative dialogue between past and present. Inside the Sala Accademie and the atrium, some 30 works by the recently deceased architect, artist and designer were displayed. The works were personally selected by Pesce not only for their functional role, but also as bearers of meaningful messages. The exhibition aims to convey the message that true design is rich in meaning, capable of making people think politically, socioeconomically, religiously, philosophically, behaviorally and personally.
