The exhibition "Italy Sixties. Art, Fashion and Design. From Boom to Pop" in Gorizia explores the effervescent decade of the 1960s in Italy, characterized by profound social, political and creative changes. Curated by Carla Cerutti, Enrico Minio Capucci, Raffaella Sgubin and Lorenzo Michelli, the exhibition takes place at Palazzo Attems Petzenstein from June 29 to Oct. 27, 2024, offering a fascinating journey through art, fashion and design of the era.
A special mention goes to B&B Italia, which emerges as a symbol of innovation and experimentation in furniture design of the 1960s. At the exhibition, B&B Italia participated by exhibiting Gaetano Pesce's famous Up5_6 armchair, an iconic example of their innovative approach. The armchair, with its revolutionary design, perfectly embodies the pioneering use of plastics and the fusion of functionality and aesthetics, reflecting the creative spirit of the time.
Among the iconic exhibits, the 1965 Ferrari 275 gtb and Lamborghini Miura represent the pinnacle of Italian automotive design. Symbols of Made in Italy design and technology are also celebrated, with Pop Art and Radical Design strongly influencing the creativity of the period.
