The theme of construction as a language lies at the centre of the project of the Abaco table. Architecture, compositional precision, and the relationship between materials define its identity. Many products tend to hide their construction logic, Abaco instead chooses to make it legible, entrusting its uniqueness to the clarity of its components, their proportions, and the way they connect. The table develops a structure articulated by the top, crosspieces, and legs, available in various material combinations: all-wood versions, solutions with lacquered or light grey concrete legs, and even a variant with a smoked glass top, which visually lightens the overall effect without sacrificing its architectural strength. The result is a family of objects in which the precision of the joints, the visibility of the parts, and the tactile quality of the materials transform function into an everyday experience.

Ronan Bouroullec
Ronan Bouroullec ist ein französischer Künstler und Designer, geboren 1971 in Quimper. Nach seinem Abschluss an der École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD) gründete er 1995 sein eigenes Studio. Seine Arbeiten, geprägt von Schlichtheit und Raffinesse, verbinden handwerkliches Können mit industrieller Fertigung und umfassen diverse Bereiche wie Möbel, Beleuchtung, Inneneinrichtung und Projekte im öffentlichen Raum. Seit fast dreißig Jahren arbeitet er mit internationalen Verlagen zusammen und lehrt gleichzeitig an der ECAL. Neben seiner Tätigkeit als Designer spielt das Zeichnen, eine Leidenschaft, die er seit seiner Kindheit pflegt, eine zentrale Rolle in seinem Alltag. Ihm wurden bereits mehrere Einzelausstellungen in renommierten internationalen Museen gewidmet. Seine Kreationen und Zeichnungen befinden sich in bedeutenden Museumssammlungen weltweit, darunter im MoMA in New York und im Victoria and Albert Museum. Im Frühjahr 2024 widmet ihm das Centre Pompidou in Paris eine Ausstellung und würdigt damit seine großzügige Schenkung an das Museum.
